About Us
Hi, we’re Olivier & Devon…
… life partners who have chosen to live deep in the boreal forest, with a shared purpose of living in right relationship with the Land. We live in Denendeh, on a small island in the East Arm of the Great Slave Lake, NT. We are about 8 hours by skidoo or boat from the nearest road in Yellowknife, & about 3 hours by skidoo or boat from the nearest fly-in community of Luselk’e Dene First Nation. Olivier has been living in Denendeh since he was 18, cultivating skills & surrounded by chosen family. With permission of elders in the community, Olivier created this camp twelve years ago & has been producing traditional dry fish ever here since. Devon has been off-grid homesteading, foraging, & farming throughout much of her adult life. She joined Olivier 3 years ago, learning dryfish production, & creating & tending extensive forest gardens & semi managed spaces surrounding the camp. We are passionate about offering accessible staple foods, & creating land based products that prove healing, heartening, & inspiring.
